Erin provides a nurturing environment in class where students can feel safe while practicing yoga, so they can relax and open up to the endless possibilities of healing yoga can offer them. She teaches a vinyasa “flow” class that is Hatha-based, and focuses upon the principles of the Anusara tradition, where, above all, the heart is at the center of the whole practice. If one can center their mind, body and feelings at the base of their heart, they will gain great insight that comes from within as they experience their highest-self. Over time, dedication and practice, the students begin to reach deeper levels of concentration, and cultivate higher levels of self-awareness. Erin believes through yoga comes deep understanding, great love, wisdom and compassion for all. In yoga class, one can practice these principles and then, apply them to their own life once they step off their yoga mats and move back into their world. Erin begins each class with a brief centering, focusing on deep breathing that prepares each student for the intimate flow of asanas that will follow. Deep relaxation and a short meditation will conclude each class.
Erin encourages her students to, “Come to class with an open mind and an open heart…and the body will always follow.”
